There is also a map generator on the game in case you get bored of all the islands included. Sandbox allows you to play an open-ended game on your choice of island.

The Tutorial mode is well done and gives a good basic overview on how to play the game, plus it unlocks an easy chievo.Ĭampaign mode is a set of 15 missions that take place on multiple islands. A tutorial, Campaign, Sandbox, and Challenges mode. Gameplay is split between 4 different modes. My only complaint is that there are some submenus that get confusing with the layout and there are some commands that need to inputed multiple times and must be re-accessed trhough all the previous menus every time. The use of the RT with the face buttons and directional pad make on the fly commands easy to make and work with little to no delay. The basic control layout is pretty well done. It helps that the game actually tells you what obstructions are present when placing buildings. The rotation and building placement is crisp and easy, with little frustration finding suitable places. On the bright side, this makes placing buildings very easy. When you've selected a building to build, make sure you're in the area you want to build it in, because the camera moves very sluggish when placing buildings. The camera controls are crisp and respond well when zoomed out, but get a little sketchy when you're trying to zoom in on individual citizens.

So most of you will pleased to here that the controls made the shift to console pretty well. The number one concern of most PC players when playing PC games on a console is the controls. The animation isn't all fluid, such as in crop growing, where crops skip from one growth phase to another, but other then that, you get a very impressive visual game.Ĭontrols. Character animation resembles that of a Sims game, more then sufficient for its role. The lighting and weather effects are phenomenal and watching constructions is as fascinating as it ever has been. The Graphics for the game are quite impressive. The dialog of the game is presented in a hilariously horrible accent, making the game most entertaining. Sound FX are effecient, nothing really too noteworthy.

Mambo, Bossa Nova, Salsa, you name it, it's here. Very, very entertaining, and appropriate, Latin music pieces grace the sounds of this game.

But keep on your toes and remember, if you screw up just this much, you'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong! 2 Following in the standard of city builders, the game requires you to both build your island nation and run its governement however you see fit. It's destiny rests in the descions you make. The game's premise is easy enough, you play the role of a tropical dictator, leading your island nation into the future. My goal is to present an ideal review of Tropico 3 that presents its pros and cons in an easy to understand way. Its debut on the 360 as a discount game 1 has offset many retailers on this, but it is well worth the search if you're into the city builder style of game.Īs usual, all comments and criticism is welcome, please post in the comments and I will alter/correct the review accordingly.
